As I recall, the 278 rods are a stock Yamaha part, though they had an oiling slot in the big-end for the TZ. Alistair had a brand-new 750 crank that had been assembled by yamaha with RD rods...

...or, sell the one you have and buy a new pair of better quality reproductions, that assemble with better tolerances than the Yamaha items ever did, for about 1/3rd the price!
