Hi Al - yes indeed - tried 3 different plates & one of the 2 hole plates fitted to the later YPVS motors...
I tried 2 new bearings - both go tight / notchy as soon as the plate is tightened - old...

Well - if I am looking at it correctly - there should be a circlip fitted to the outer race of that bearing - shouldn't be able to move far - even with the retainer missing...might be better to split...

I've not been tempted to use any of the "replacement" gaskets I've seen over the past few years - most as far as I can tell are without the steel "core" - I've heard they will soften after some time...
