Default TZ,s in Phillip island MotoGP support race!

I have been Chatting (as you do) and a few of us TZ'd owners here in Aus think that there should be TZ'eds allowed to run in the classic support race at the Phillip Island Moto GP.
I would like to hear other peoples comments and ideas on this, if we can put a strong enough case together then may be there could be a chance!

Lets face it look at the times some of the guys run at the island on the TZ'eds they would be midfield at least with the big banger diesels!

The ring-a-dings certainly crash less and even when they do, they leave a lot less of a mess on track.

Throwing a rod on a stroker does'nt leave a big stream of oil everywere!

And above all they are proper GP machines, not converted road bikes

Come on TZ owners take a stand, lets do it, Moto GP or bust......!

Out of interest I thought I would compare some times from the 2010 Phillip Island Superbike Historic support races and the 2010 Island Classic 350 Forgotten Era races. I used the 115% cut-off time of 2.00 min flat roughly based on one of Robbie Phillis' 1.44 times as a selection criteria.
Based on the times for Australian TZ350 riders at the Island Classic if they had been in the Superbike Historic support races there would have been 1 in the top 10, 4 in the top fifteen and 6 in the top 25.
All would have been under the 115% by at least 3 secs.
Interesting huh! So they would not just be grid fillers but quite competitive.

Terry

I've been wrong before, but did I see your name on the qualifying times at the SBK meeting?

Yes - I was offered a ride on Peter Morley's TR based 3 cylinder aircooled 500.
We just had the forks re-done and were sorting out some 'interesting' handling characteristics when it dropped a lump of Nikasil off the left hand barrel in qualifying - so I spent the rest of the weekend pit crewing on his other bike - the watercooled 560 which went quite well all weekend.
Gotta say the 3 cylinder things having got a lot of go, great torque and so smooth when you get into the powerband.

Another victim of Electrosil eh Terry
How did my cylinders go on Clives bike, I swapped Peter at the Island, they're good for triples but not twins.
At least mine don't leak water.

Rob,
They worked really well - no problems - no leaks - plenty of HP!
