OK - now back in normal mode (if there is such a thing)
We fitted a couple of the new slides for Oulton on Saturday - engine felt very good - carburation seems very good - did also fit a new set of needles / nozzles I had been saving for a rainy day - so carbs are as near new now as they will ever be.
I've yet to lift the head to check the top end - I had also done a bit of work with the combustion chambers - finally got a lathe attachment made to machine the radius to correct the volumes - very happy with how it was performing (less so myself - need a few more miles to get up to speed - not been on a bike for months - so could only manage 2nd places)

OK - let's get some slides in the post
I've taken a look at the Paypal site - & it looks like a 4.9% fee - so I'm afraid I'll need to add that to the costs - + the postage costs - which will depend on what service you choose - for small / light items like the slides - our Royal Mail is usually cheapest - but if anyone knows different - let me know - I don't mind how they are sent - but for your own protection - probably better with enough insurance to cover the full value.

Just a thought - if there is anything else I can help with that could be sent in the same package to save on post....just ask - I'll see what I can do.

I've now had 2 replies by PM - so I will get on with those - if the other guys could PM me again to confirm what you want (will save me going back over the PMs from months back) - I will then get on with getting some slides airborne

Ok - just weighed a pair of slides - & checked the Royal Mail site for costs:
Until I have actually packed them - I have taken a guess / estimated the shipping weight - as far as I can see - the cost as follows:

12.60 - for 1 pair of slides

15.55 - for 2 x pairs of slides

Both of those have up to 500 insurance included - if it comes in cheaper - I'll refund the extra.

The above shipping costs are for Australia - although New Zealand apears to be very similar costs - might need to adjust shipping for other places (uk will be cheaper too....)

Ooh, ooh, me first

2nd place..not too shabby after a few months off. I've got 3 1/2 years of scale to scrape off. Throttles that open AND close, now that should help get some miles under my belt.

Thanks for the time and effort Gordon, looking forward to them.

You are indeed first - as it should be - it was you that started all this

First place would have been preferable - but never mind...

OK - while I'm here - has anyone got any ideas on a replacement for the double row needle roller bearing / sleeve for the primary gear - I did have a brief look at it a couple of years ago - and if I remember correctly - the only real option was going to be adjusting the sleeve diameter to suit an available needle roller bearing - if that's the case - I'll have to look at getting some made (I've not seen any for sale anywhere else ??) - I could use a couple for myself - anyone else need these ?

Default Primary gear

I had a new sleeve made to suit standard bearing , cost about $70 , works great as the bearing is a little larger and tougher

OK, so call me stupid. What are 26J reverse slides and do I need them? They seem to be an item in demand.

26J are TZ250K aka ZC (Zero Cut away) carburettors. They use a different slide, alloy with a teflon style coating that wears. Slides are NLA, so Gordon has had some made as the previous suppliers of aftermarket ones have not had any stock for osme time.

Think of them as a Mikuni attempt at a Lectron...."Lekuni's"

Call them 'Lechunis'. If you decide you need a set let me know - I have a couple of sets spare probably!

So they only work with the 26J carb bodies and jetting?
